Marketing context pack

One versioned page of positioning, voice, ideal customer profile, allowed claims, forbidden claims, and proof sources. Every AI marketing workflow reads this. None of them write to it.

Fill one page. If it runs past two, split a per-campaign addendum and keep this core stable. A pack nobody reads before approving is decoration.

One named owner edits it. Write the version number and date every time. If a cell is a guess, write GUESSED so a reviewer knows to check it.

Pack header

  • Pack version (number)
  • Owner (one named person, not a team)
  • Reviewed on (date)
  • Next review (date, usually within 90 days)

Positioning

Short enough to say out loud. If a model reads only this section, it should still describe you correctly.

  • Who you serve (one sentence)
  • What you do (one sentence)
  • Why you over the usual alternative (one sentence)
  • Three things you are not, or do not sell

Voice

RuleGood exampleBad example
Rule 1A line in your voiceThe same line, off voice
Rule 2A line in your voiceThe same line, off voice
Rule 3A line in your voiceThe same line, off voice
Rule 4A line in your voiceThe same line, off voice
Rule 5A line in your voiceThe same line, off voice
  • Banned words and phrases (list them)
  • Sentence length range and paragraph limit
  • Punctuation rules (for example, no em dashes)

Ideal customer profile (ICP)

The firm you can serve and get paid by. Include who you decline. A model without a decline list will chase everyone.

  • Industries you serve
  • Company size band
  • Trigger event that makes them look for you
  • Who signs, and who influences
  • Who you decline, and the one-line reason

Claims allowed

A claim goes here only if you can show proof today. No proof pointer, no entry. Past the next review date, an unverified claim moves to gray.

Claims forbidden in generated copy

  • No prices, discounts, or quotes
  • No guarantees of results, rankings, leads, or timelines
  • No client names, logos, or quotes that are not listed with permission
  • No “best,” “leading,” or ranked comparisons
  • No result numbers that are not on a page you control
  • No legal, medical, or financial advice
  • Your own additions (list them)

Gray claims (route to a person)

Anything that needs context to judge. The model attaches the draft and stops. It does not decide.

  • Comparisons that name a competitor
  • Delivery timelines (depend on scope)
  • Your own gray areas (list them)

Loading rules (check before connecting a job)

  • Workflows read the pack. None can write to it.
  • Each run logs the pack version it used.
  • Each job receives only the sections it needs.
  • Prompt wrapper includes a NEEDS_FACT output for missing facts.
  • Fetched web and email text is kept apart from the pack and labeled untrusted.
  • Pack edits go through the same review as prompt changes.
